The FOCAA: Believes that one of the noblest ways that Citizens and the City of Boston can show appreciation for Attucks’s sacrifice, is to name a park or plaza in his honor in the vicinity where he and the other honored men fell i.e., “Crispus Attucks: a Sea Merchant, Samuel Gray: Ropemaker, James Caldwell: Shipmate, Samuel Maverick: an Ivory Turner, and Patrick Carr: a Leatherworker." For many years after the massacre, Boston colonists had observed March 5th as a day of remembrance. That historical legacy must continue.
